Find the Right Heater
What do you need to consider?
Panel Heater selection is based upon a number of factors the priority of which is determined by you and your own personal circumstances;
- Room Size
- Available Space
- Personal Comfort
- Flexibility
- Budget
What size of space do you want to heat?
This is one of the most important questions and one which is often overlooked. It is key to not only consider the space you wish to heat but also to determine your personal comfort level; your preferred temperature. When discussing comfort, temperature is certainly one of the most important personal preferences.
Heater calculator
When assessing the heat requirement for a given area several factors need to be taken into consideration, but as a general "rule of thumb" guide use the calculator below to calculate the number and wattage of heaters for your requirements. Background Heating is calculated based upon 50Watts per square metre (m2). the calculator considers a standard ceiling height of approximately 2.5m.
So we'd recommend one of the following options:
What space is available?
When wall mounted the panel heaters protrude approximately 65mm from the wall. Obviously measure the overall space available and check against the individual panel heater measurements in order to ensure correct fitment.
What is personal comfort?
Background heating is calculated based upon 30 to 50 Watts per metre squared. For total heating a figure of 100Watts should be used. Unfortunately there are so many variable involved i.e. level of heat loss in a room due to insulation, drafts from open windows and doors that only trial and error will determine your own personal comfort level. A "Rule of Thumb" guide has been provided in order to make selection easier.
What is meant by flexibility?
Flexibility refers to the wattage and physical size of the heaters. A number of smaller heaters may well provide a more flexible solution longer term than a single larger heater. Longer term consideration must be given, particularly if the heater is free standing and is purchased with a view to transporting around the home or workplace.
What is your budget?
This is self explanatory and only you will know this. If you have any questions regarding specifying your heaters please contact or helpdesk at enquiries@yttlaser2000.co.uk or +44 (0) 1325 315 566.
Why do you want a heater?
You may have cold spots in a room or simply want to take the chill off, you may have limited space, moisture, condensation, damp, mold or mildew, a poor or limited primary heat source or require something for drying. Whatever your needs we will have a heater for you.
Where do you want to use the heater?
There are numerous domestic applications and environments, both indoor and outdoor, in which we require heat. In our home, conservatory, garage, shed or green-house. For leisure in our caravans, tents, motor homes and boats or for a second home. There are also commercial applications such as offices, factories, diving centres and veterinary practices. How often do you use the space?
How often you use the space and how rapid you require heat reflect the type and cost of heating. Laser 2000 'Classic' Heaters are designed for long periods of continuous use. Due to there low electricity consumption they are extremely economical to run. They can be used on timers for operation during pre-selected periods to suite your personal preference.
Laser 2000 heaters are specifically designed for background heat and should not be confused with high output conventional electrical heaters which consume large amounts of electricity. Such heaters create temperature peaks and troughs which consequently do not provide a stable comfortable room temperature.
