Solutions to your Problems

It is important to appreciate that the LASER 2000 radiant panel convector is not designed to compete with conventional high output heaters which use large amounts of electricity. The radiant panel heaters are designed to be used for long periods to provide a comfortable level of background heat, but by using minimal electricity, they do this in a most cost effective manner.

Moisture, Condensation and Dampness

The panels are designed for continuous running and are therefore excellent at remedying condensation, dampness & moisture preventing damage and ultimately saving money. Customers typically use them on a timer to heat a second home when not in use to prevent damp and moisture build-up.

Condensation can be prevented and/or controlled by appropriately ventilating rooms, adequately heating rooms, insulating and controlling moisture production. Condensation occurs in 'Cold Spots', so if you can warm up the cold areas you will help control condensation. Insulation will reduce the cold spots and make your home cheaper to heat.

Cold Spots and Large Spaces

Some customers use them to eradicate cold spots in large rooms which do not heat fully with conventional heating. In addition, they can be used in old stone homes in which it is prohibitive to install or extend primary heating systems due to cost.

Due to room layout, size or configuration 'Cold Spots' may occur. Background Heating is an ideal solution to eradicate potential moisture build-up preventing damp and possible mildew. Extensions to homes which can not be serviced properly by existing primary heating systems also lead to cold spots.

Periodic Use

Sometimes rooms are used but it is often inappropriate to activate the primary central heating system; a computer room, spare room or garage for example. Panel heating provides the ideal solution for periodic use.

Cold Snaps

Back-up to primary heating in cold spells. Panel heating provides the ideal solution for periodic use. There compact and light weight form enable them to be moved easily and with plastic end-caps even when in full operation.

Limited or Confined Space

confined space

Often there just isn't the space or it simply isn't practical to install conventional radiators or heaters. In narrow corridors or porches etc. The panels ultra-slim design, only 25mm (1 inch) deep, means they are extremely space efficient. When wall mounted on brackets 25mm deep they protrude from the wall only 50mm (2 inches).

Prohibitive to Expand Existing Heating System

Often when extensions or conservatories are added to a home it can be prohibitive to extend the existing heating system due either to cost or system capacity. This is an ideal application for panel heaters as a low cost, easy to install, maintenance free solution to comfort heating

Mildew and Mold

Molds and mildew are fungi that grow on surfaces of objects, within pores, and deteriorated materials. They can cause discoloration and odour problems, deteriorate building materials and lead to allergic reactions in susceptible individuals, as well as other health problems. Moisture control is critical for reducing mold growth.

Cold spots often result in mold growth. This may occur as a result of lower air temperatures due to poor air circulation, a void in insulation in the wall or cold air blowing through cracks etc. A patch of mold on is probably a result of the surface being cooler than the room air. The most effective way to remedy mildew is through reducing the water content present in the air, increasing air temperature and/or building/object surface temperature and increasing airflow.

Appropriate insulation and draft control should be implemented as part of a total moisture control and heating strategy.
